Strategic GoalsWhat we will see …
1. The teaching of the NZ Curriculum ensures all students learn by developing their individual talents and enthusiasms consistent with the School’s special characterIncreased student achievement in years 2 to 6 with a particular focus on writing through rich learning opportunities and the proactive use of good quality assessment tools processes. The School’s special character is integrated throughout the NZ Curriculum; The Ministry of Education and Education Review Office are satisfied with the School’s delivery of its special character, curriculum coverage, assessment of learning, reporting to parents, and attendance; School staff confidently incorporate the School’s special character into their teaching practice.
2. Te Ao Mäori & Te Reo are appreciated, honoured, and expressed throughout the School•        Ngäi Tahu’s aspirations and expectations for the education of Mäori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ao Mäori are reflected in the School’s curriculum; Students contribute to the development of a local cultural narrative to recognise the historical relationship between the area and its mana whenua; The cultural competence and capability of the students, staff and community is prioritised and increased; Te Reo is in daily use in classrooms.
3. The School community engages with the student learning and is committed to the School’s special characterParental trust and confidence with the School’s special character is established and grown with junior students; School staff are available to parents at the start and end of each school day; Regularly scheduled community events are well attended and increase support for the School’s special character; Parents offer their skills to create more diverse learning opportunities for students; The Board collaborates with the Society to build community support for the School’s special character;Networks associated with integrated schools and democratic education are used for ongoing development and training.
